What is fluororubber? Characteristics and advantages of fluororubber
What is fluorogel?
It is mainly used in aviation, chemical industry, chemical industry and chemical industry for its excellent fluorine resistance, heat resistance and oil resistance. Synthetic rubber with fluorine atoms in its molecular structure.
It is usually expressed by the number of fluorine atoms in the fluorine-containing unit in the copolymer. For example, fluororubber 23 is a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and trichloroethylene. Fluororubber is resistant to high temperature, oil and chemical corrosion.
Fluororubber 23, commonly known as No. 1 rubber in China, is a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and trichloroethylene.
Fluororubber 26, commonly known as No. 2 rubber in China, DuPont brand Viton a, is a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene, and its comprehensive properties are better than that of No. 1 rubber.
Fluororubber 246, commonly known as No. 3 rubber in China, DuPont brand Viton B, is a terpolymer of vinylidene fluoride, tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene, with fluorine content higher than 26 rubber and good solvent resistance.
Fluororubber TP, commonly known as tetrapropylene rubber in China, Asahi brand aflas, is a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and hydrocarbon propylene, with excellent water vapor and alkali resistance.
Vinylidene fluoride rubber, DuPont brand Viton GLT, is a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride, tetrafluoroethylene, perfluoromethylvinyl ether and vulcanization point monomer, with excellent low temperature performance.
Perfluoroether rubber, DuPont brand kalrez, has excellent low temperature performance, high fluorine content and excellent solvent resistance.
Fluorosilicone rubber has excellent low temperature performance and solvent resistance
The main types of fluoro rubber are: fluorine rubber round strip, fluorine rubber round tube, fluorine rubber square strip, fluorine rubber special-shaped strip, fluorine rubber plate and so on.
Properties of fluororubber:
Fluorine rubber is white or amber translucent sheet elastomer, non-toxic, tasteless, non combustible (self extinguishing), with excellent heat resistance, oil resistance, chemical resistance, good physical and mechanical properties and weather resistance. It can be melted into low molecular ketones and lipids.
1. Withstand voltage: ≥ 6.0KV
2. Working temperature: – 60 + 350oC
3. Specific gravity: 2.0
4. Hardness: 70 ± 5
5. Tensile strength: ≥ 6.5
6. It has excellent oil resistance, solvent resistance, ozone resistance and corrosion resistance.
Advantages of fluororubber:
1. Excellent high temperature resistance: the service temperature range is from – 60 to + 250. Excellent oil resistance: the high temperature fuel oil, sulfur-containing lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, diester oil, silicate ester and other oils are better than other rubber.
3. Excellent resistance to strong corrosive medium and strong oxidant, and its stability to fuming nitric acid, concentrated sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, hydrogen peroxide, concentrated alkali and other strong corrosive media is better than other rubber.
4. Good mechanical properties, electrical insulation and radiation resistance.
5. Good resistance to high vacuum.
Application scope of fluororubber:
1. When the fluorine rubber is affected by moisture and water or the temperature rises, the change is small. Even if the silicon dioxide generated by short-circuit combustion is still an insulator, which ensures the electrical equipment to continue to work, so it is most suitable to make wires, cables and lead wires.
2. Fluororubber tube can be used for conveying and sealing various strong acid-base, steam, hot air, hot oil and other fluids, as well as household appliances, lighting and medical equipment.
3. The working pressure of fluororubber tube (0.5-3.0 MPa) can be added with joint and stainless steel mesh cover.
4. Fluorine rubber strip is also used for wire jacket in harsh working environment.
5. Fluororubber has outstanding high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance. It is known as the king of rubber. It can be processed into rubber tube, adhesive tape, film, gasket, (skeleton) oil seal, “O” ring, “V” ring, etc., which is widely used in aviation, automobile, petroleum, chemical industry, telecommunication, instrument and other fields.
